In case you didn't know, Stephen doesn't like snakes!
But he wasn't too bothered about meeting the first star of this new series of Brilliant Creatures - a baby snake!

The snake was hatching from his egg.
As you can see above, the process started when the snake made a little hole in the shell of his egg, and popped his head through.
After a few moments, when he was ready, the hatching continued as he started to leave the egg.

He's a corn snake. Not venomous, but beautifully marked.
Isn't it amazing that so much snake could fit in one tiny egg?
