Fearsome Freshwater Shark

Next time you're thinking of cooling your feet in a lake or stream on a hot day, watch out for the fearsome freshwater shark.

It's one of the world's most deadly predators.
It's teeth are razor sharp and undoubtedly the most deadly feature of the freshwater shark, which is also known as the pike.

It also has an awesome appetite!
The pike mainly feeds on fish, but also eats frogs, water voles, coots and even baby ducks.

Full-grown pikes can be as long as 1.5m!
The mottled markings of the pike allow it to blend in perfectly with the underwater surroundings.

When it's spotted something it fancies, it waits very quietly and then strikes with lightning speed - grabbing away with those sharp teeth, and tearing the prey to shreds!
