Here's Gail examining some poo - but which creature it might have come from?
It smells horrible and is full of seeds - which means the creature concerned probably eats a lot of fruit.
Any ideas?

Stephen has the answer.
The poo belongs to fruitbats, sometimes called flying foxes.

They're the only flying mammal and are nocturnal creatures - which means they sleep during the day and fly out at dusk to feed on ripe aromatic fruit like bananas, figs and papayas.

All that fruit going in means a lot of poo comes out.
Amazingly bats poo every 15 minutes throughout the day and night!

But because bats live in huge numbers, side by side, they make a lot of mess.
Where we were recording, at Jersey Zoo, there are only 60 bats - but look at all the poo!

Sometimes, in the wild, bats roost in larger numbers - sometimes up to one million!
Imagine how much poo that would make!
Eww!
