Kangaroo

How much do you know about this marsupial?

Did you know that when fully grown, they can be bigger than some humans? That they breathe 300 times a minute? That they can leap 13.5 metres with a single jump? Or that one kick could kill you?

Sydney here is 91kg of muscle - otherwise known as a kangaroo!
He may not look like a champion heavyweight but that's exactly what he is.

For starters, check out his feet! They're enormous, and together with his muscle-bound legs, enable him to propel forward at speeds up to 43mph!
Kangaroos don't move the same way as humans. They can't move their legs one at a time like we can.

Instead they hop, moving both feet at the same time.
Sydney's tail is is very thick and consists of bone and muscle - making it incredibly powerful!

Without their tails, kangaroos would just fall over! The tail acts as a balance, stopping the kangaroo from falling when it's hopping along at speed.
That tail is also used as an extra leg!

The kangaroo uses it to push off from a stationary posution when it needs to get going.

Plus - it sometimes uses it to lean back on - a bit like a built-in stool!
A kangaroo could easily kill you with one kick - they're that powerful!

Plus, look at those claws! They'd easily rip through you.

So - brilliant creature and kickboxing champion.

That's the kangaroo!
