Have you ever tried to impersonate an animal? If you have, the chances are you didn't get much recognition from whatever animal it was.
We challenged Stephen to "talk" to a pack of Canadian timber wolves. So to learn what to do he was given a masterclass from an expert...

This is Sean and he's pictured here in the Brilliant Creatures office demonstrating to Stephen how to make the calls, through a combination of voice, mouth and hands.

So - back to the challenge!
The wolves are penned in, and Stephen and Gail stood outside the pen with their backs to the pen.
This is so that the wolves couldn't see Stephen making the calls. Plus, because, they easily get over-excited, it's much safer that way.

Stephen started...
Amd immediately the wolves start to respond by listening, pacing up and down, and licking each other's mouths.

One of them rolled round too, in an attempt to mark its territory. Definite recognition. Isn't that amazing?
