The chances are you've heard of cheetahs, leopards and jaguars. They're all well known, spotty cats.
But you would be able to identify which was which?
This is Muppet...
...and this is Ladybird.
They're both baby spotty cats - but what kind are they?
Here's a look at their coats. Any guesses?
Here you can see the markings of a cheetah, a leopard and a jaguar.
The cheetah has a simple, spotty coat...
...the leopard has pale-centred rosettes...
...and the jaguar also has rosettes, but with dark centres.
Muppet and Ladybird are jaguar cubs. They're four and a half months old.
They're being hand-reared because their mum couldn't look after them.
Most of the big cats that have featured on Brilliant Creatures previously have been from Asia and Africa. But the jaguar is from Central and South America.
In fact, they're the only big spotty cats that live there.
The word jaguar comes from a native American Indian word meaning "one who kills his prey with a single bound".
In their native country, they're a symbol of strength and power.
Muppet and Ladybird may only be babies but already their strength is unbelievable.
They have razor sharp teeth - as you can see in this picture!
They've already destroyed loads of toys and furniture in the house that they're living in.
What makes the jaguar's teeth all the more devastating is the power of their jaw.
Most spotted cats kill their prey with a bit to the throat or the back of the neck.
But the jaguar kills with a bite to the head!
It has a vice-like grip that crushes its victim's skull, causing instant death!
The jaguars are so powerful they can actually bring down animals as large as a cow!
They generally hunt animals a lot larger than their African cousins, the cheetah and the leopard.
When fully grown, a jaguar can weigh up to 120kg!
That's much bigger than either a leopard or a cheetah.
They have really compact, muscular bodies, very powerful shoulders and short stocky legs.
Muppet and Ladybird both have folds of loose belly skin will develop as they grow. In the wild this works as protection against the kicks that the jaguars get from their prey.
Another jaguar speciality is that they like watery homes.
They like to live in flooded forests or swampland.
These paws will be huge when fully grown - they help the jaguar to swim.
So because jaguars prefer to live in the dense cover of the jungle floor and the shadowy pools, they're rarely seen.
They're probably the least familiar of all the spotted cats - but they're certainly impressive.
