If you ever get animals mixed up this is the section of the show for you.
This is the Nile crocodile…
…and this is the alligator.
Stephen and Gail readily admitted they were scared!
These two creatures haven't changed their terrifying ways in millions of years.
Armour and agression in equal measures mean these two are beasts not to be messed with.
But what are the differences between them?
They look so similar.
They're very hard to tell apart – but there are some differences.
Number one - the crocodile's fourth tooth sticks out of its lower jaw when its mouth is closed.
The alligator's does not – its teeth fit into sockets.
The alligator has more teeth, too – sometimes as many as 80!
Number two - if you were in America – you'd be looking at an alligator.
But if you were in Africa – you'd be looking at a crocodile.
Three - the alligator has a thicker snout than the crocodile – but the crocodile's nose is longer and thinner.
And the crocodile can sniff out a meal four miles away!
