Fearne Cotton is making her CBBC debut with Eureka TV - but the chances are you'll know her from her from some of her many other programmes. But you might not know that her big break came when she won a national competition to discover a new presenter for CiTV's Disney Club five years ago. A three year contract presenting GMTV's live weekend show Diggit followed - and she's been on television ever since Fearne is now only twenty years old and already a veteran of children's television having presented programmes including CiTV's Petswap, Finger Tips, Mouse and Draw Your Own Toons. She'll soon be seen hosting CBBC's Record Breakers. |

Fearne says that she was slightly nervous about accepting the role of presenter on Eureka TV, being more of an arts girl herself. At school she concentrated on arts subjects rather than science and technology, and managing to get an A for A-Level Art, taken whilst working flat out on Diggit! "I love Eureka TV - it shows how exciting science is and just how much fun it can be", she says. "I particularly enjoyed Little Eureka, the part of the programme where we demonstrate magical science experiments which you can do at home", Fearne reveals. "You won't believe some of the cool things which we do with vinegar on the show. We make a bone bendy by putting it in vinegar, which is pretty mad. Who would think that you could make a bone bendy?", she asks. We even show you how to use an egg bounce using vinegar!" Fearne is convinced that her favourite High Tech Eureka featured on the programme will become a real craze. She says "We show amazing new sweets for the first time on British TV which have holograms stamped onto the surface. They look unbelievable", she says. "I reckon they'll be a huge hit", she says. "We also made a hologram in the studio using a laser pointer, which was absolutely incredible. It looked so beautiful". She recently moved into her own flat and is enjoying the chance of creating her own space. She's earmarked a huge bouncy ball from the Eureka TV studio set which she reckons would look fantastic in her flat. She lives quite close to her parents and often visits them and her 16-year old brother who has just completed his GCSEs. In her spare time, Fearne says she enjoys dancing painting, listening to music and keeping fit. Oh, and watching Eureka TV, of course!
