For this Paper Eureka, you need one sheet of A4 paper. |

Cut a 5cm strip off one end, like this. |
|
|
|
Fold 5cm of the strip over at each end. |
|
|
|
Fold both of those ends over themselves. |
|
|
|
Now stretch the strip out so that it looks like a little bridge. |
|
|
|
Pop the bridge down onto a piece of carpet. Blow under it, and you'll see that it doesn't move at all. |
|
|
|
It works like an aircraft. The air pressure underneath the bridge is reduced and actually sucks the bridge down. |
|
|
|
So the air rushing over the wings of a plane reduces the pressure and this is what makes the plane take off! |
