You might think that Fearne's new wristband...
...and her belt look very tasty.

And you'd be right!
They're made from apple leather.

It looks and feels just like leather, but it's made from apples!
To make some, you'll need ten cooking apples, some apple juice, some cinnamon and some honey.
Peel, core and slice the apples.

Fearne had a little help from some of her friends with this!
Stew the apples with the apple juice.

A couple of cup fulls should do.

Stew them until they're soft.
Let the apples cool right down.

Then spoon the mixture into a collander over a bowl. This will allow the excess juice to drain away.
When strained, get the mixture as smooth as possible.

The easiest way to do that is by using a liquidiser.

It's a good idea to get some help with this.
Add a little honey for sweetness...
...and a pinch of cinnamon to enhance the flavour.

Then get stirring!
Spread the mixture onto a baking tray as evenly as you can.

When you're happy, leave to dry.

The drying process can take a while, but you can speed it up by putting it into the oven overnight on the lowest possible heat.

Leave the oven door open just a little to allow the moisture to escape.
If you do put the mixture into the oven, you need to leave it for a couple more days in a warm place, so that it can dry out some more!
When it has dried, you should just be able to peel it off the baking tray.

If it's a bit sticky or tacky, just rub a bit of cornflour on.
To make a wristband, just carefully cut a strip with some scissors.

If you like, you can use a hole punch to make holes so that you can thread liquorice lace through to tie it up!
With practice you can really go to town with weaving and detailing.

Just experiment!
The belt is made in the same way, but has sweets stuck on with icing for decoration...
...and it's tied with plaited liquorice laces!

And remember, if you get fed up with wearing it - or just a bit peckish, you can tuck in! Mmm - delicious!
