Take some card, and draw around the base of a tissue box.
Then draw a ruler width line either end on the outside, and join the lines up.
Draw a diagonal line through the middle.
| |
Cut the triangles out and stick them onto the box, one at each end.
This will form the roof sides.
Glue lolly sticks to the box horizontally, to make wooden slats.
If your lolly sticks are long and there's some left sticking out at the ends, just cut them off neatly. Keep going until the box is almost completely covered.

Make sure you leave a gap two lolly sticks wide at the top of both ends of the box.
Paint the whole thing white!
For the roof, draw around the base of the box twice and cut the shape out, with a fold down the middle.
You can cover this part with corrugated card and paint it whatever colour you like!

You need to attach the roof to your hut, but it needs to be detachable so that you can fit your things inside.
Stick some hook and loop fastener (the hook part!) to the inside edges of the roof, and the loop part to the gaps you left on the hut earlier.
Now the roof should stick on!

You can customise your hut however you like, using more lolly sticks and beads for a door knob.
To create an authentic pair of surfboards, cut out pieces of card with a tab on the bottom to stand them up.

Now you need a location for your hut.
Glue the hut and the surfboards onto an old pizza base, then cover the base with lots of PVA glue.
Pour loads of popcorn on - and wait for it to dry!
When dry, shake off the excess popcorn to reveal a great pebbled beach.
| |
You could also paint on a name plaque and number to finish it off!
And that's it - a handy holder to store all your beach things in!
