Why not make one of these beaded ball point pens?

Not only do they brighten up any pencil case a treat, they also make a great gift.

And as ever, they're so easy to make! Here's what to do...
As well as an ordinary ball point pen, you'll need some PVA glue, a brush and some decoration.

We used mini beads and some small nuts and bolts. Whatever you decide to use, you need to empty them into a large plate or tray.
The first thing to do is paint PVA glue onto the barrel of the pen.

Hold the pen at the tip end, and apply the glue with a small paintbrush.

Don't paint the nib!
Lie the pen flat and roll it slowly through the plate or tray that you filled with the decorations.

You'll see that they start to stick to the barrel.
If you're using something heavier for the decoration, like the nuts and bolts, you'll need to go much slower to give everything time to stick properly.

Try doing one side of the pen at a time.
To allow the pens to dry, stick them upright into a piece of modelling clay.
Because PVA glue dries clear, these pens look really good when they've dried.

It's a good idea to add one more layer of PVA glue over the top of the decorations to seal them all in place!
Why not experiment with some other ideas?

You could try using sequins or glitter. Sweet wrappers even!

And what about adding that finishing touch of a marble or bead on the top!
