Check out this bracelet.

A beautiful snake that looks like it's made from gold.
But it's actually made from a recycled plasic bottle!
The curve of the bottle makes the bracelet stay in place when it's on your arm.
There are lots of ideas that you can use to adapt this technique.

Here's a gladiator wristband with jewels...
...a geometric design...
...a sequinned version with an Egyptian flavour...
...and this interlocking spiral looks very glamorous, complete with jewels!
Here's how to make the snake bracelet.

Start by drawing a snake shape onto paper first. Take a sheet of A4 paper and cut in half, longways. Stick both ends together to get a nice long strip.

Click here to get our templates for the bracelet ideas. You'll find a template for the snake shape and a template for the interlocking spiral.
The snake shape should be about 2cm wide.

Include a tail at one end and a head at the other.
Cut the shape out, like this.
Next, just wrap the snake shape around the bottle, sticking into place as you go.
Then draw around the paper template in permanent marker, like this.
Pierce a sharp pencil through the bottle to make a starter hole, and carefully cut the snake shape out.
Cover in gold paper, and add a small tongue cut from red ribbon.
You can add eyes from sequins.

Just glue them in place.
For extra ideas, you could add some scales to the snake and extra jewels too.
Here's an embossed aztec design, too.
Cut out an ellipse shape from some kitchen foil stuck onto card, like this.
Use a blunt pencil to add on an intricate, detailed pattern.

Stick the foil covered card around a bottle, and cut the whole thing out of the bottle.
