This game is a hive of activity and a real buzz to play.
The aim of the game is to keep as many bees as you can at the top of the beehive.
Take it in turns to pull out straws from the honeycomb sides and the bees will gradually start slipping down inside the beehive and eventually reach the bottom.
If a bee falls to the bottom you are the bee keeper.

But the player with the least amount of bees is the winner!
To make the game, start with a juice carton.

On each of the sides draw a rectangle - make the lines about 1cm in from the sides and about 4cm in from the bottom.
Then cut all the rectangles out.

Pierce the carton with a pencil in one of the corners of the rectangle.
That will give you a hole to then start cutting the rest of the rectangle.
Cut out the rectangles on all the sides and you'll end up with something like this.
To get the bees into the beehive you can use this ready made opening.
To get the bees out at the bottom make a couple of doorways. Do this by drawing a section at the bottom of the carton big enough for the bees to squeeze through.

Do the same on the opposite side.
Cut the rectangles out.
On a piece of card, draw around the base of the carton one and a half times.
Cut the shape out and fold it into a roof shape.

Score along the top to help you.
Stick the shape into the base of the beehive.
To make the roof of the beehive, draw round the base of the carton twice onto corrugated card.
Bend it in half to give the roof shape.
Stick the carton lid opposite the opening like this.
Put the roof on top and stick it to the lid.

Don't stick the other side down - that makes a flap so the bees can get in but can't get out.
Next, get your finger tips on some sequin cut outs to make the honeycomb sides.

You'll need four sections big enough to cover each rectangle.
Use some masking tape to stick a piece of the sequin cut out to each side.
Paint the beehive white and add on some wooden strips and nails with a permanent marker.
You can also add some strips of card to the roof and paint them to look like wooden tiles.
The straws are just party straws.

Place them in one side and through the other. Continue all the way round.
The bees are yellow fuzzy balls with pieces of black pipe cleaners wrapped around them.
As an added extra, you could make a bee keeper out of a sweet tube and a piece of netting to store all of your bumble bees.
So why not challenge your mates to a game of bumbling beehive?

They'll be swarming round your house, buzzing with excitment and stinging your praises!
