Everybody would like to be a DJ - but unfortunately not everybody has got what it takes!
| |
Now you can have your own set of DJ decks in your bedroom. This is the Finger Tips CD Deck.
It's a great place to store your CDs.
To make it, get your finger tips on a cereal box. Cut off one of the thin sides.
Then tape the box where you open it to get the cereal out.
| |
Next, paint the box or cover it in card.
To cover it in card, draw round all the sides of the cereal box like this.
Cut the shape out and score all the lines you've drawn.
| |
Fold the card round the box and stick it in place.
Next, move on to making the decks.
| |
A lid from a margarine tub makes a great turntable, it just needs a lick of paint.
To make sure that the paint sticks to the lid, mix a little PVA glue into the paint.
When it's dry, fix the lid to the box. Do this by sticking a piece of corrugated card to the underside of the lid.
| |
Then fix the lid slightly off centre on top of the box.
A circle of black foam makes a perfect slip mat and a small bead covered with foil is an ideal centre pin.
To make the CD rack, you'll need six sheets of card and some strips of corrugated card.
The sheets of card will be the shelves - cut them so they're slightly narrower than the cereal box.
| |
Place a strip of corrugated card either side of the sheet of card.
Then place two CDs against the strips of corrugated card. There should be a gap in the middle.
Stick another strip of corrugated card in the gap between the CDs.
| |
Double up the strips of corrugated card like this so your CDs have got room.
To make it easy to take the CDs out cut two semicircles on each sheet of card like this.
Leave the bottom one as it is.
| |
Slot the shelves in the box.
The arm is a bottle top with a wooden skewer stuck on top. Put a bit of corrugated card inside the bottle top to fix it onto the decks.
| |
The graphic equalisers and level meters are bits of foam stuck on to another bit of card.
Then fill the CD Deck with all your favourite CDs.
You can decorate your CD Deck in whichever colours you like.

Take a look at this one - it's even got a mixer!
