If you like sweets, you'll like this Fun Finger Tip.
The Choccy Challenge is a maze that has to be negotiated before you can eat the sweets!
You start in the middle and work your way towards the open edge.
If you fail to complete the maze, or if you drop the sweet through any of the holes, your opponent gets it!
| |
To make Choccy Challenge, you'll need two pieces of corrugated cardboard - one single thickness and one double thickness.
Get a pair of compasses and set them at a distance of 14cm from the point to the end of the pencil.
| |
Draw a circle on each piece of cardboard, then cut them out.
Next you can make the maze walls.
Take the pair of compasses and set them so that they're 1cm smaller than before (now 13cm) and draw a circle.
| |
Then, set them 2cm smaller (now 11cm) and draw another circle.
Keep going, alternating between 1cm and 2cm reductions in compass width, so that you end up with ever decreasing rings.
Repeat this process on both circles of cardboard, but cut out the rings from the thinner piece.
Get rid of the wider rings, and you should end up with this!
| |
Next, design the maze, but take care not to make it too hard.
Chop up the loose rings to make the maze walls, position them on the thicker circle of cardboard, and when you're happy, stick them down with PVA glue.
The holes are next. You need seven or eight in total.
The positioning is up to you, but once again, don't make it too hard to play!
Push a pencil through to start each hole off.
| |
Then use bigger and bigger things like paintbrush handles and marker pens to open the holes up.
Test each hole to check that the sweets will fall through comfortably.
The pivot for the game is made using a roll on deodorant bottle.
Make sure it's thoroughly washed clean...
| |
...then take a 2p piece, position it in the exact centre of the back of the thicker circle and carefully draw around it.
Pick away one of the two cardboard thicknesses to create a hollow for the deodorant ball to sit.
Fill the hollow with PVA glue and pop the deodorant bottle on top.
Leave to dry thoroughly.
| |
Then stick a plastic cup to the deodorant bottle to give the game extra height.
The decoration of the game is up to you. This one has a space theme, as well as a base and even a sweet delivery tube!
| |
And that's it.
Set your mates the challenge and stand by to enjoy the results of their failure!
Yum!
