Change dull old T-Shirts, like these ones...
...into something much funkier.
Stephen's modelling a doubled-up one whilst Naomi wears one with fringing and beading on it.
| |
And this one's gathered up the side.
To make a t-shirt like this one, first of all get your hands on an old t-shirt.
On the inside of the t-sSirt, draw a line of fabric glue down one of the side seams.
Draw the line from the arm to the bottom of the t-shirt, and keep it about 1cm away from the seam.
| |
Next, put another line of fabric glue about 1cm away from the first line.
Lie the t-shirt out flat and leave the glue to dry.
Tie a piece of coloured cord to a large paper clip or safety pin.
| |
Thread the the paper clip and cord up the T-shirt - position it between the seam and first line of glue.
When they get to the top, thread the paper clip and cord out of the arm hole, and thread it back down between the two lines of glue.
| |
When the cord comes back out of the bottom, hold the two ends and gather up the t-shirt, like this.
When you're happy with it, tie the two ends of cord in a knot.
To make Stephen's doubled up top, get your finger tips on an old t-shirt with long sleeves.
It's best best to use one where the sleeves are too short.
You'll also need a short sleeve t-shirt with short sleeves.
| |
Cut the neck off the long sleeved top.
Put the neck inside the other T-Shirt.
When you're happy with the positioning, glue it in place.
| |
Next, cut the sleeves off the long sleeved top.
Position the sleeve in place...
| |
...then stick it with more fabric glue.
Do the same with the other sleeve, and leave it to dry.
And to make this one, snip up the sleeves, thread on some beads and tie the ends.
| |
You'll find loads of t-shirts like this in the shops - but why not have a go at making them for yourself, at a fraction of the cost!
