These costume egg cups are made from these tiny plant pots.
They look great!
| |
The type of plant pots you need are ceramic, and the size is quite important.
They have to be exactly 5.5cm in width across the top. That's the perfect size for an egg to fit into.
Now you need to dress the plant pot in some oven bake clay.
It comes in some fantastic colours and costs just over £1 from most craft shops.
Roll some out so that it's very flat.
| |
Use the template to cut out the same shape from the clay.
| |
When done, wrap it around the pot.
You'll notice that there's a gap at the back...
...but if you cut another piece of clay in the same shape and stick this at the back, you instantly get a jacket and shirt!
| |
Mould the clay over the top so that you can neaten up the edges.
Now you can add some detail.
Cut also from clay - how about a collar for the shirt?
| |
A snazzy tie...
...and some lapels for the jacket.
| |
If you like, you can add some piping to the jacket lapels to help them stand out a bit more.
When you're happy with your design, you can pop your decorated plant pot into the oven to bake.
Just follow the instructions on the clay packaging.

For other ideas, how about Dracula, complete with flowing cape?
| |
Or a beautiful ballerina, with a frilly tutu?
Or a footballer with (of course) a football - and stripy shirt.
