Take a look at these plain white tiles decorated with patterns or pictures.
They're perfect for personalised presents.
And you don't need to stop at tiles - you could decorate mugs or bowls as well.

To make the Creative Crockery, get your finger tips on some glass and tile paints.
You'll also need a tube of glass and tile outliner.
You can buy this from art and craft shops.
| |
These white tiles work best because they show up the colours really clearly.
You can pick them up cheaply in end of line bins in most hardware stores.
Before you start to decorate your tile, it's a good idea to draw your design on paper first.
| |
With the outliner, copy the design onto your tile.
It can be quite tricky drawing with a tube, so have a practice on a piece of card first.
Leave the design to dry for two hours and then your tile will be ready to paint.
The raised line of the outline will help stop the colours running into each other.

Lovely!
To make the paint permanent and the tiles washable, you can bake them in the oven. Just follow the instructions on the paint pot.
If you want to use the tile on a desk or table top, put some foam or felt on the back so that it won't leave scratches.

The designs are up to you... how about a football one?
Or a frog!
| |
The mugs and bowls look fantastic too, and they can even go in the dishwasher.
So get designing your own Creative Crockery, and have a 'smashing' time!
