Here's another great Finger Tips party idea!
This one's full of the atmosphere of the woods - Lord of the Rings style!
It's the Enchanted Forest party!
Create a mystical feel with low level lighting and lots of cobweb spray.
Keep your decorations sparkling silver like these shining stars...
| |
...or forest green like these glittery leaves.
You could make some enchanted wind chimes by adapting the Spooky Wind Chimes idea from an earlied programme.
| |
And how about these toadstools?
They're just cheap wooden stools painted with a spotty design!
Food-wise how about some cake toadstools?
They're just upturned buns covered in icing.
| |
You could also rustle up some fruit punches, served up in sugar-frosted glasses...
...or Baggins bagels topped with melted cheese!
| |
And how about some goblin's faces, carved out of red and green peppers, filled with whatever you fancy?
If you're a girl, why not dress as a fairy with attitude!
Spike up your hair and wear lots of body glitter...
| |
...wear a tatty tutu with leaves stuck on, and a pair of chunky boots.
Boys could wear a waistcoat and baggy trousers, and have a leather pouch for mystical magical stuff!
| |
The centrepiece of the party is the fantastic Spirit Of The Tree lucky dip.
Party guests place their finger tips through a hole in the tree, not knowing whether they'll get a prize or something slimy and revolting!
The game works because of a double layer of card.
The outer layer stays where it is, but the inner tube rotates so that the lucky dip changes inside.
| |
The outer tube is made from a large sheet of card.
Draw four same-sized circles about half way down the card, evenly spaced out. Then cut them out.
These need to be big enough to fit your hand through, as you can see here.
| |
Wrap the whole thing into a circle and secure it together with parcel tape.
Next, make another tube in the same way.
This one needs to be narrower than the outer tube so that it fits inside the first one.
| |
Get someone to hold the inner tube still so that you can draw around the holes from the outer tube onto the inner tube.
Cut those holes out so that you have two tubes each with four holes that match up.
| |
Next you need four boxes.
Large tissue boxes are perfect as they have a pre-cut hole in the top.
.
Stick these in place behind each hole on the inner tube.
Use plenty of parcel tape to make them nice and secure.
| |
Turn the outer tube into a spooky tree face by rolling sheets of newspaper into sausage shapes.
Tape them in place with masking tape...
...then bend and twist them into branch-like shapes.
| |
If you bend the tubes of newspaper into rings you can stick them over the holes on the tree to make spooky mouths and eyes!
Keep going until you're happy with the look...
| |
...and then add plenty of paper maché.
Fearne used purple, blue and gold tissue paper to give a mystical look.
Once the paper maché and glue have dried, dip a sponge into some silver paint and dab on to highlight parts of the exterior.
| |
Pack up the lucky dips with gross things like coconut hair, dried leaves, stale breadcrumbs, damp feathers and joke shop slime.
Make sure one of the dips has a nice contents - like these chocolate parcels!
Mmm!
| |
Finally don't forget to decorate the top part of the inner tube, because it will show when the whole thing is put together.
Finish by putting the two tubes together, line up the holes and the game is ready to play.
