This is the Finger Tips Cam, complete with its own pop-out LCD viewfinder!
We've worked out that you can get two VHS tapes into the Finger Tips Cam, making it a handy place to store all your favourite programmes - including Finger Tips!
| |
If you'd like to make the Finger Tips Cam, you'll need to get your hands on a suitable box.
The ideal kind to use is the one you can see opposite - a cat food multipack (where the cat food comes in pouches) with a flip top lid!
Carefully cut one of the rims off the lid.
| |
Then, cut half way down two seams on the same side, and flip it out.
Give it a slight curve so that it can accommodate the next part of the Top Make...
...which is a biscuit tube!
This will become the optical zoom lens of the Finger Tips Cam. Place it on the curved flap that you just cut, like this.
| |
You also need to cut a semi circle out of the end of the box so that the biscuit tube will fit snugly inside.
For the LCD viewfinder, we used an old plaster container. But any container will do, as long as it will open and shut.
Stick a picture of a friend inside the viewfinder and it'll look like you're actually recording!
| |
For the buttons, we used sweet tube lids.
A film canister lid makes a great viewfinder...
| |
...and two crisp tube lids make a great lens.
With some coloured paper and paint, the Finger Tips Cam comes to life!
| |
Plus, you can use the optical zoom lens to hold a Record Sheet, that lists which programmes are on each of your tapes.
You can get the Record Sheet to print off if you click here.
