If you're a footie fan you'll love the Finger Tips football league ladder scarf!

As well as looking great it will help you to keep track of how your favourite teams are performing.

Want to make one? OK, read on!
To begin with, you'll need to get a large piece of white card.

Draw a wavy line across it.
Cut along that wavy line to give you a piece of card with one wavy and one straight edge.

Move the cut piece of card down and use it as a template to draw another wavy line further down the piece of card.
Now carefully cut along the second wavy line.

This should leave you with shape that has two wavy edges, and this is the base for the scarf.
Before you continue, you need to choose the colours of your favourite football team, to use on the scarf.

For this scarf, Stephen chose blue and white - the Reading colours!

So - cut some coloured strips of card that are double ruler width - about 7cm.
Place these strips of coloured card on the scarf base, with an equal distance between them.

Carefully glue them in place.
Cut off the pieces of card that go over the wavy edges and throw them away.

It's time now to make the tassles for either end of the scarf. Start by drawing round a 5p coin on a piece of coloured card.
Draw a tear shape on top of the circle that you've drawn.

Repeat this to the same width as the base of the scarf that you've already made.

Cut them out, but leave a flap that you can stick underneath the scarf base.
Stick these tassles to either end of the scarf.
It's time now to make up shirts to represent the teams. You stick these onto the scarf.

You'll need 20 shirts to represent the 20 teams. Either cut these out of football magazines, or draw a small shirt shape template and then cut enough out of card.

Colour them in with felt tips so that they represent the different teams!
The football numbers come next. Start making these by drawing round the bottom of a cup or glass onto a piece of white paper or card. Cut the resulting circle out.

You'll need ten of these altogether.
Decorate each circular piece of card so that it looks like a football.

Give each circle of card a number between 1 and 10.
Stick the footballs onto the scarf, down the right hand side, in number order.
The shirts that represent the teams go down the left hand side.

Because you'll be changing position of these regularly, stick them to the scarf with velcro. You can get this from sewing, knitting and craft shops - it's not very expensive.

Stick furry velcro to the back of the shirts, and rough velcro pieces to the scarf.
Put an extra ten pieces of rough velcro at the bottom of the scarf so that you've got somewhere to put the ten teams that aren't on the scarf.
That completes the scarf! If you're not a football fan, why not make this alternative music ladder.

It works in the same way, but has piano keys down the right hand side and pictures of pop stars cut from magazines and stuck onto card down the left!
With either of these, once you've made them all you have to do is keep them up to date with the positions of your favourite teams or pop groups!
