Have you ever played golf?

It doesn't matter if you haven't - because this is golf with a difference. A ghostly one!
Instead of bunkers and long grass, there are spooky webs, skeleton hands and open graves to slow you down.

The aim of the game is to reach the haunted castle in fewer strokes than your opponent.
It looks quite complicated, but don't worry.

To make it, you need three storage boxes like these.
Cut off the sides, so that just the bases are left.
Paint the bases, or cover them with coloured card.
On the other side, stick on two kitchen roll tubes so that when standing up, each base piece is slightly raised.
To stop the ball from rolling off the card, add straws around the edge.

Leave a little gap so that you can join the next piece of base on.
To create a ghost train track, paint on some sleepers and then stick down a couple of pieces of string using some glue.

The gap between them needs to be about the same width all along so that the ball can be guided along.
To make the spooky web, take some pieces of string and dip them into PVA glue.
Then lay the pieces out onto cling film, into a web shape.

Then leave to dry.
When dry, paint and then carefully peel off the cling film.
Position the web on the base so that it becomes a tricky osbtacle - just like you can see opposite.
To make the bony skeleton hand, you need a crisp tube.

Cut a section out of it, to make a tunnel that the ball can roll through.
Now you need the box from a bar of soap. Cut a chunk out and stick it at an angle over the crisp tube, like this.
Cut holes in the side of the box. This is where the fingers go.
The fingers themselves are made from corks. You'll need four altogether.

Just slot them into place.
And the finger tips are made from four more corks. Add a cocktail stick to these so that you can connect the corks together.
All you have to do now is paint!

This one's been painted black, with white bone details.
Add the hand onto another base.

The ball has to run through the tunnel.
Now you can make the shallow open grave, which players have to avoid falling into.

You need a shallow tub for this.
Draw around the tub onto the base, and carefully cut out the hole.
Paint the tub a wooden colour, and slot it into place.
The gravestone is made from a piece of cardboard which has uneven pieces of masking tape stuck on.

The tape creates a great texture that you can paint over.
Once dry, just slot into place!
Join all three base sections together and you're almost ready to play.
For extra decoration, why not make some scary pumpkins. They're just cones of card with faces painted on.
You can make ghosts in the same way.

This one has a hole cut into it, so that the ball can roll through.
A set of ribs can be made by bending pipecleaners into shape, and painting them in a scary fluorescent colour.
The haunted house that sits at the end of the course is made from a margarine tub that has sweet tubes for turrets, all painted up to look suitably scary!
The clubs are made from bamboo canes, with paper maché handles shaped to look like bones...
...and the bats are just painted pieces of cardboard, stuck to the canes.
Finally, the golf ball is just a ping pong ball painted up as a skull!
Remember, the aim of the game is to reach the haunted castle in fewer strokes than your opponent!

Be brave - and good luck!
