Here's a great idea for a fun, adaptable, fashionable t-shirt.
To make it, you'll need an old t-shirt. Any colour is fine, although white works best.
Draw out a body cavity shape on the front of the t-shirt, in pencil. You need a sort of tube shape at the top and a rounded bottom - a bit like the top of a wine bottle!
| |
Next, slip a piece of cardboard inside the t-shirt, between the front and the back.
This will prevent the fabric paint from seeping through from the front and ruining the back.
Use fabric paint to colour the body cavity shape. We used pink, but you can use whatever colour you fancy.
Do remember to follow the manufacturer's instructions carefully because some fabric paints need to be fixed with an iron before they can be washed!

Now you can make the internal organs!
We made ours by cutting them from thin sheets of foam (which you can get from craft shops), but you could make them from stiff card backed with fabric, or just from painted, stiff card.
These internal organs have a great 3D effect because they're made from different coloured pieces of foam.
| |
To make these 3D-effect organs, cut out an organ and then draw around it onto another piece of foam that's a different colour.
Leave a gap around the edge so that when you cut out the big shape, the little one will sit comfortably inside, like this.
Just stick them together with PVA glue.
| |
Next, go round the edges of the organs using a glitter pen of a different colour.
| |
Do the same with the body cavity when the fabric paint has dried for a really professional-looking finish.
The internal organs are attached to the t-shirt with hook and loop fastener pads.
For each organ, stick one part of the fastener pad to the t-shirt and another to each organ.

They'll stick like glue and can be changed around to your heart's content!
