For all jokers everywhere this is one Fun Finger Tip that's guaranteed to make people look twice!
It's a lead for an invisible dog, and once you've made it, with a bit of practice you can make the whole thing look very convincing to unsuspecting passers-by!
You need to make the lead so that it doesn't go floppy - so you need to use a wire coat hanger.
This can be quite tough as well as dangerous because wire hangers have very sharp ends. Get an adult to help you to straighten it out.

You now have to cover the straightened-out hanger with a length of thick, wide ribbon.
To do this, lay a length of ribbon on a table. Place the straightened-out hanger in the middle, make sure there's some spare ribbon at either end, and then fold the ribbon over the hanger, and stick it down using PVA glue.
To make the handle, fold the overlap in at one end. Secure it in place by wrapping and sticking an additional piece of ribbon over and around the join.

The collar is made from another piece of thick, wide ribbon.
Fold it over, and stick it down.
You need to make holes in the collar now.
They should be three finger-widths apart, so mark them out with a pen first and then make holes at each mark by pushing a pencil through the ribbon into some modelling clay underneath.

When the holes are made, put paper fasteners through each of them.
Fold the backs of the paper fasteners flat, and there you have a very realistic looking studded collar!
Fold the collar together and secure it in place with another paper fastener.
Attach the collar to the lead by using the other overlap, and secure it in place either with PVA glue or more paper fasteners!

For a finishing touch, why not add a little bell, threaded through a paper clip. Then you'll never lose your invisible dog!
Hook the paperclip onto the collar.
