Throw your own jungle party and make it a swinging success!

To make the Tarzan Skittles game, start by making Tarzan, who will knock over the animal skittles! Glue a polystyrene ball onto a small crisp tube. Secure it in place with sticky tape.
Tape some string or thin rope to the top, for Tarzan to swing from.

The tape will be covered up later.
When the glue has dried, you can decorate Tarzan whichever way you like.

Use wool for hair...
...and pipe cleaners for arms!

If you twist the pipe cleaners around the rope, it'll look like he's swinging!
Make legs and feet using card folded backwards and forwards.
For the animal skittles, decorate tall crisp tubes in animal patterns.
To create the tiger, tear strips of masking tape lengthways so that untidy edges are left.

Stick them on some orange card. Stick the smooth, straight sides to each other - like this...
Keep going until the whole thing is covered.
Using a sponge, splodge black paint all over the orange card.
When the black paint has dried, carefully peel off the masking tape.

Lovely orange stripes should be revealed!
Wrap the card round a long crisp tube and stick on!

Add eyes cut from card as well as a nose and whiskers.
Now twist two pipe cleaners around each other, and stick on the tiger's bottom for a tail!
To play the game, you'll need lots of different animal skittles and a tree for Tarzan to swing from.

To make this, stick a broom handle in a large drinks bottle filled with sand. Decorate with crepe paper.
Tie Tarzan's rope to the top of the broom handle...
...and leave him hanging just above the ground, among the skittle animals which should be dotted all around.
Party guests split into two teams and they have to try and knock over their herd of animals first.

You could split them into carnivores and vegetarians!

But if you knock over the other team's animals, you lose a turn!
Now for some party decorations. Here are a few ideas to get your place looking like a jungle!

Hang colourful curly snakes from the ceiling. Give them paper tongues and stick-on googly eyes.
Woolly string makes great vines with paper leaves stuck in place.
These are hanging monkeys made from cardboard - cheeky!
And what about these bongo drums?

Just get an old swimming cap and stretch it tightly over a decorated plant pot!
And for food...

These paw print pittas are just ordinary pitta breads with food colouring painted on to look like paw prints. Fill them with whatever you like!
.
These little cakes are decorated with animal print icing!
Why not make a tropical fruit basket with chunks of fruit in half a pineapple or melon!
Finally - dress as a jungle explorer in heavy boots, and khakis with binoculars around your neck?

Or you could go Jane-style with some fake fur and chamois leather! Ooo!
