This is a great game: fun to make and fun to play - if your heart can take it!
Place as many rockets onto the launch pad as you can before it fires.
Whichever player places the last rocket onto the launch pad when it fires, is the loser.
| |
The firing mechanism is made from one of these popping balls.
Turn the ball inside out, place it on a table and wait for it to pop.
Place the ball into the base of the launch pad and you'll never know when it will go.
| |
The launch pad base can be made from any shallow container like this margarine tub.
For that intergalactic look, cover the tub with silver paint.
Here's a top tip: mix some PVA glue with the paint so it sticks to the plastic tub.
| |
To make the launch pad: draw around a dinner plate on a piece of card.
Cut it out and draw on some rivets with a black pen.
| |
Do the same to the margarine tub when it's dried.
Now for the rockets. All you need are two triangles of card - one with a slit on the top and one with a slit at the bottom.
| |
Slot them together like this.

Paint the rockets and draw on some bolts.
| |
The nose cone is a semi circle of card rolled into a cone shape and stuck on top of the rockets.
When you've made about ten rockets you're ready to play.
But only if you're sure your nerves can handle it!
