Stephen took the full minute to finish this 1 Minute Finger Tip. Can you do better?
Remember to time yourself with our Finger Tips timer.
You'll need a dry wipe marker, a chain, a pencil, two paperclips, some modelling clay, an empty CD case and a piece of card that's cut down so that it'll fit into the CD case.
So - limber up your Finger Tips and start the clock!
Open up the CD case and remove the plastic tray inside, as you won't need that.
| |
Now make two holes in the piece of card, like this.
Do these by piercing a sharp pencil through, into a ball of modelling clay underneath.
Take the piece of chain and thread it through the holes like this.
| |
On the back of the card, attach paperclips to each end of the chain. Stick the paperclips to the card with sticky tape.
Pop the card into the CD case, close it up and stop the clock!
| |
So - how does it work?
Well, shake the chain, and when you've got a good shape, you can create a picture by drawing in the rest with a dry wipe marker or crayon.
Hmm. This is supposed to be the Finger Tips hand...
Nice one, Stephen!
| |
It doesn't matter if what you draw isn't very good (like the hand Stephen did), because the beauty of dry wipe markers is that you can just erase whatever you've done with a tissue or cloth and start again.
For a different idea, check this out.
This one has half a face already drawn onto the card. Shaking the chain appears to do weird things to the shape of the nose!
| |
Look at the size of the nose on this one...
And here's a chicken with a beak!
