Furniture. It's designed by grown ups, usually bought by grown ups and is often very, very boring.

So here's a cool idea - Nifty Knobs!
They're perfect for adding your own personal touch to a chest of otherwise deadly dull drawers.

This one is decorated with shiny sweet wrappers...

...this one has painted shells.
This one has a mechanical feel to it, as it has nuts and bolts.

Plastic insects look good...
...as does the Finger Tips hand...
| |
...even sequins work well.
You can decorate them with whatever will stick in place.
If you fancy having a go at making some Nifty Knobs, you'll need some plain drawer knobs.
They usually unscrew quite easily - but do remember to ask permission before you start dismantling your drawers!

The first thing to do is cover the knob in PVA glue.
Choose whatever you want to stick on top, and pop it carefully in place.
In this shot, Fearne's using a plastic fly.
| |
Add more PVA glue over the top of whatever you stick on - and don't worry because PVA glue dries clear!
Allow the glue to dry thoroughly, and when done the knob will look something like this - nice and shiny.
Very cool.

To finish, just screw the knob back in place!
