Try making this paper fold caterpillar in under a minute.
Stephen only just managed it in the studio with a time of 57 seconds! Can you do better?
You need two strips of paper, two small lengths of garden cane, scissors and a glue stick.
Start by putting a little glue on one end of one of the strips of paper.
Stick the other strip on top, at a right angle.
| |
Now you need to start folding.
Fold the left strip over and the right one. Then vice versa!
Keep repeating folding one strip over the other to make a concertina shape.
When both strips are all folded up, secure the last flap.
Trim off any excess if necessary.
| |
Feed the pieces of cane in between the folds at two points along the length of the concertina.
If you are timing yourself, stop the clock!
Just add a face and two antennae to complete your paper fold caterpillar!

When you've had chance to try this a few times, why not add a different face or some extra decoration to the same principle for the body?
How about this Chinese dragon, for example? Doesn't he look cool?
