Start by taking two pipe cleaners, and wrapping them around the piece of wood into the shape of a coiled spring. When that's done, take the coiled pipe cleaners off the piece of wood. Then cut the other pipe cleaner in half. Take one half of the pipe cleaner you've just cut, and put it through the coil. Then bend the two exposed edges into a coil. And that completes the caterpillar - which looks good enough as it is! But put it onto a pen and there you have a pipe cleaner pen top! You could have a try at making other kinds of creatures.
