There's nothing quite like a nice, warming bonfire on a chilly autumn night.
But have you ever heard of a bonfire that you can eat?
Well, the Finger Tips Red Hot Autumn Bonfire certainly can be eaten and it tastes great!
Creamy mashed potato, savoury twigs and surprise bangers inside - delicious!
| |
If you want to make this, you'll need to get some mashed potato.
You can make up the instant kind from a packet by following the instructions, or you could make it from real potatoes, of course!
Get a plate to serve up on (this one is just a paper plate that's been printed on with coloured leaf shapes - looks good, doesn't it?) and add a circle of foil in the middle.
| |
Put a dollop of mashed potato in the centre of the plate and add in a couple of small sausages!
Now build up the bonfire with more mashed potato.
Cover up the bangers and start to sculpt the bonfire shape with a fork.
| |
Add some savoury twigs around the edge of the mashed potato to make it look more realistic.
And if you want your bonfire to look and taste red hot, add some spicy salsa to the top!
| |
A sprinkle of Red Leicester cheese completes the effect. It looks like real flickering flames!
Give it a go - why not make one for your mates and see if they're cool enough to handle the red hot autumn bonfire!
