Here's a great game of rocket skittles that you can play over and over again!

It's fun to play and very easy to make. The rocket skittles themselves are made from empty pop bottles!
Ideally you'll need to make ten skittles.

Each one is made from a small pop bottle. When empty, give the bottle a rinse and peel off any labels. Part fill with sand to give stability.
The rest of the detailing is made from card.

Find yourself a piece of card (the side of a cereal packet will do nicely). Put a dinner plate on it, and draw around it.
Cut the circle out, and fold it in half as evenly as evenly as you can.
Cut down the fold line, so you get two semi-circles.
Take one of the semi-circles and crease it in half. Don't make it a definite fold, just pinch it on the straight edge.

This will enable you to bend it round into a cone.
Secure in place with tape, and then stick the cone to the top of the bottle!
The booster is made from the other semi-circle that you made earlier.

Crease it in half as accurately as you can, and pinch the straight edge. With a pair of compasses draw an arc that is 3cm from the outer edge.
Cut along the arc so that you make a "c" shape like this.
Wrap this shape round the base of the bottle and secure it in place with tape.
Rocket fins next!

Draw a fin shape and cut it out. Make two of these for each rocket skittle, and stick them on.
Now cover the skittle in paper maché to give it extra strength.

(Remember: paper maché is just strips of old newspaper pasted on with a mixture of PVA glue and water, in equal quantities.)
When the paper maché has dried, you can paint the skittle. The colours are up to you, but bright colours work best.

Add detail such as a window on the rocket body and don't forget to paint numbers on each skittle so that you can keep score when playing the game. The person with the highest score wins!
Have fun!

And remember that if you've got lots of bigger bottles you could make a set of bigger rocket skittles!
