Find two plates - one needs to be about two thirds bigger than the other - and draw around them onto a piece of cardboard box card, like this.
This is to give you a guide for the cockroach's body shape.
| |
Join up the circles, and make one end a bit wider for the head, like this.
Cut the shape out.
| |
Your cockroach will need six legs and two big feelers!
Draw the outline of these on some cardboard and cut them out first.
To attach them, make holes using a sharp pencil on the side of the roach's body.
Put some modelling clay underneath so you don't damage your table!
| |
Make a hole in each leg too.
Attach the two legs with a paper fastener.
| |
All the legs and feelers will now be wiggly!
Now paint your roach, adding as much detail as you like.
Use shading for a 3D effect and features for more character.
| |
When your paint has dried, turn the cockroach over and stick the vacuum cleaner bag in place.
Put the open end at the top. If there are any bits poking out, just tuck them in and secure with some sticky tape!
Stick your cockroach to your desk, door or wardrobe and you're ready to tidy away your mess!
