No tricky skateboarding skills are needed to make this skateboard note board, which is perfect for all those reminders that you seem to forget!

If you want to have a go, just keep reading...
The skateboard is made from an ordinary, empty cereal box.

When you've found one, carefully cut down the vertical seam and open it out flat.
Now you need to find yourself an old CD. One of those free internet trial discs that you get on some magazines would probably do - but remember to check first!

Place the disc on the flattened box and mark the top and bottom edges, and the centre point.
Draw three parallel, horizontal lines from these points.

Then, within the lines, draw around the CD four times, as you can see opposite.
Now use these guide lines to draw an authentic skateboard shape.

Aim for a sort of sausage shape with pointy ends - just like you can see here.
Now turn the cereal box over.

Cover it with cork board.

You can get this in sheets from most craft shops. You'll need to use plenty of glue to stick it down well.
Once the glue has dried and the cork board is stuck hard, turn the flattened box over again, and carefully cut out the skateboard shape.
That's the base finished, so it's time now to make the two trucks that will hold the wheels in place.

These are just sweet tubes, covered in silver cooking foil.

Use the dull side of the foil for extra realism!
The axles are made by sticking three drinking straws together.
Thread the axle through the truck. The axle should be slightly longer than the truck.
The wheels are just bottle tops!

Each wheel is made from two bottle tops stuck back to back.

Put a blob of sticky tack in the middle, and then attach the wheels to the axles.
You need to make a pair of riser pads now.

Cut two pieces of corrugated cardboard the size of playing cards.

Cover both with cooking foil, with the dull side facing outwards.
Why not draw some screws in the corner of each pad with a permanent black marker, for added realism!
Now you can assemble your skateboard note board!

Start by sticking the trucks to the riser pads. We used double-sided sticky tape for this, but if you haven't got any, you could use PVA glue.
Cut another sweet tube in half, paint it the same colour as the wheels, and put the top in.

Stick this in place as you can see here - this'll hold a pen in place!
And finally, stick your notepad or notelets on!
And for a very wacky finishing touch, draw round your own feet onto some card, and cut the shapes out.

Decorate them like the soles of a snazzy pair of trainers, and stick your skateboard over them to look like someone's on board!
