This is a great trick that you can make to baffle your mates! You need some thin strips of black and white paper, four pieces of coloured card (two in one colour, two in another), and some stick glue. See if you can beat Stephen's studio time of 1 minute! Arrange the strips of paper across one of the pieces of card like this. Place the second piece of card - which must be the same size - over the top. Dab some stick glue down both of the longer sides, like this. Fold the right edges of the black paper strips and the left edges of the white strips back so that they stick into the glue. When done, stick another piece of card (you may want to use a different colour, like this) on the top and press it down. Flip the whole thing over, and dab some more stick glue down both of the long sides. Now fold in the remaining black and white paper strips. Glue another piece of card (again, ideally of a different colour) on the top, and stop the clock! This 1 Minute Finger Tip is called a Snatcher's Wallet. Get a friend to loan you a banknote, say five or ten pounds. Open the wallet out and place it down on top of the X shaped paper strips. Close the wallet up, and when you open it again, the banknote is mysteriously trapped behind the X shaped paper strips. Good, eh? So how does it work? Well, it has two hinges and can open both ways, like this... ...and like this!
