If you ever work in the garden, chances are you'll need a good scrub when you come back indoors.

So here's a great idea for combining "garden" with "soap" to make a beautiful customised bar of soap.
Don't they look fantastic?
If you want to grow your own flowers and dry them, here are some suggestions from the Unwins range of seeds.

Helichrysum Summer Spectrum - Helichrysum bracteatum
Helichrysum Pink Stars - Helichrysum cassinianium
Pearly Everlasting Sylvia - Anaphalis margaritacea

Everlasting flower mixture
Or, you could pop to the shops and buy your own.

They come in lovely colours, but be careful not to buy anything that's too big...
...something this size is just perfect.
To make the Soap Crystals, you need to get some pure, clear glycerin soap from your local shop or supermarket.

It doesn't cost much.
You need to melt it gently over a very low heat.

Be very careful not to overheat it, and take care because melting soap is extremely hot!
To get the crystal effect, you need to find yourself a small plastic pot like this...
...and a little piece of foil.

Give the foil a good crinkle, so that it's no longer smooth...
...then place it inside the pot.
You should get about two Soap Crystals from one of the bars of glycerin soap.

Take a dried flower and place it facing downwards into the foil-lined pot.
Now pour on the melted soap.

Again, be very careful when doing this, as the melted soap is very hot!
The next bit's really easy - just walk away and leave it to cool right down!

After an hour you should have something that looks like this.
Unpeel it, and take a look.

Beautiful!
For some other designs, how about some plastic insects that look like they're from the Jurassic age?
Or a plastic scorpion in some green soap, to look poisonous?
Adding some jewels will create a "forgotten treasure" look that's very attractive, too.
Finally, adding some cellophane and wrapping with ribbon makes one of these Soap Crystals into a great gift.
