Planning a party? Why not spook your guests with these great Finger Tips ideas for a truly spooky party?

Here you'll find ideas for food, costumes and decorations, but keep reading for details of how to make Spooky Cyril, the centrepiece!
Not only does Cyril look great on his own, he's actually a superb game that your guests can play.

They have to put their hands through the eye sockets and see what they can pull out...

Yes, Cyril is the ultimate unlucky dip!
He starts off as a balloon, covered in at least three layers of paper maché.

(Remember: paper mache is simply strips of old newspaper, which you paste on using a mixture of PVA glue and water in equal quantities.)
You'll also need a good sized tub (a large coleslaw or margarine tub will work well).

Put the pointy end of the balloon into the tub.
Draw around where the tub and the balloon meet, then cut that part of the balloon off.
Once you've done that, stick the balloon to the tub with plenty of strong tape, to make sure it's nice and secure.
Draw on the nose and eye sockets.

When you're happy with what you've drawn, cut the eye holes out.

When you're happy with what you've drawn, cut the eye holes out.
Once that's done, you need to apply more paper maché around the eyes, eyebrows, cheek bones and around the tub at the bottom.
Add some teeth by sticking a few tightly folded up squares of newspaper to the front of the tub.
The final thing to do before painting Cyril is to cut a hole in the back of the head.

This is a secret hole through which you can occasionally pop your hand to grab people who are playing the unlucky dip game.
You should now paint Cyril using white paint.

Add highlights and features using black paint, and for a final scary touch, why not add some fluorescent yellow to the eyebrows?
Here's a great tip to prevent the players cheating by being able to see inside.

Stick some black fabric on the inside, to the top of the eyeholes.
Now you can add the gunge to Cyril.

You could use balloons filled with water, which are nice and squidgy, or you could use jelly which is equally gungy.

Fill Cyril using the hole you made at the back of the head.
Don't forget to add the lucky dip items.

Wrapped sweets work well. We also used some plastic spiders creepy crawlies and, for one lucky winner, a one pound coin!
