`HTML> Finger Tips

For this 1 Minute Finger Tip, all you need is a pre-cut piece of card that's shaped like a letter "T".

Don't forget you can time yourself on this by using our exclusive Finger Tips timer, which should have popped up when you loaded this page.

Stephen's studio time was 25 seconds - can you beat him?
(When you make the "T" shape, the long part of the T needs to be three times the width of the bottom part.

And the bottom part of the "T" needs to be three and a little bit times the width of the top part.)
Start the clock and begin by folding over both spurs of the "T". This one first. Make the fold slightly outside of the edge of the long part of the "T".
...then this one. Again, leave a small gap.

The second one should be folded over the first.
Now fold the long part of the "T" over the top of the folds you've just made - just like you can see opposite.
Next you need to bend the long part of the "T" back and slot it behind the two folds you made at the beginning.

Push it down as far as it will go.
Just tidy up the folds, and you've finished. You can stop the clock!

You've made a Squeezie Mover. When you press down, the back piece of card curves and stores up energy so that when you release the pressure, it springs up again.
Don't think it's particularly exciting?

Well, why not draw on a face and cut slits for a mouth or eyes, and draw on detail for them on the piece of card behind the slit.

Then when you squeeze, your character appears to animate!
We've included a template here for you to print off and fold up.
