Meet the Finger Tips Tidysaurus!
He's always around to give a helping hand, to hold your odds and ends on his horns!
| |
Underneath is hidden a secret - lots of hidden storage space which you can use to hide those private possessions that you'd rather others didn't find...
The Tidysaurus is made from recycled odds and ends that you'll probably be able to find lying around your house.
Start off by sticking an empty sunflower spread tub, face down, towards the bottom of the back of a paper plate...
| |
...then bend the edges of the paper plate back.
The spikes are just made from card.
Draw and cut out a shape like this, then use it as a template to make another 8.
| |
Stick the spikes in place around the edge of the paper plate, like this.
Next, take an empty chip cone and stick it to the bottom of the sunflower spread tub, using plenty of masking tape.
| |
Then cut a paper bowl in half...
...and stick it to the base of the chip cone, to create a rounded dinosaur face.
| |
Use the other half of the bowl to make the dinosaur's beak.
To do this, fold the bowl round and stick it together with masking tape.
| |
Next, flatten it out and use a pair of scissors to cut most of the way across, about half way down, like this.
Open it out...
| |
...then cover the resulting gap with masking tape.
And now you can stick it in place!
| |
The horns are made from bits of card rolled into thin, pointy cones.
The cones have flaps at the base so that they can be easily stuck to the dinosaur face.
A pointy section of eggbox makes a great horn for the beak!
| |
Finally, polystyrene or ping pong balls make great eyes.
Now you can paint, using any colour you fancy...
| |
...and then when the paint has dried, add detail as you wish.
This one has a yellow beak...
...scales...
| |
...and white horns, too.
An empty pizza box makes a perfect place to mount the Tidysaurus.
| |
Just stick empty packaging inside to use for storage.
You can use anything you like - this one has toothpaste boxes, matchboxes and even chewing gum packaging!
Then paint the outside of the pizza box...
| |
...and when the paint has dried, draw on a woodgrain effect with a permanent black marker.
Add a nameplate - this one is just made from shiny wrapping paper, with the name itself written on using more permanent black marker.
| |
Then paint the inside of the box, so that it looks like the inside of a mouth!
You can get a template for painting the inside of the box if you click here.
And lastly, to finish, stick the head of the Tidysaurus to the painted pizza box, then hang it up anywhere you like!
