Hang this Triple Decker sign on your bedroom door and everyone will know whether you're in or out - thanks to the changeable messages. You can also add some photos, to create some really ugly mugs! If you're going to make the Triple Decker door sign, you're going to have to start off by eating your way through 3 big bars of chocolate like these ones! And as if that's not enough, you also need to eat your way through a deep pan pizza too - to get a box this size. Place the chocolate boxes on top of the pizza box, like this. Make sure you leave a gap between each box. Use a ruler to draw a line above the first chocolate box. Do the same at the bottom. Then cut the shape out. To give the box extra strength, cover the sides with a layer of card. Do the same on the top. Some diagonal strips of yellow card have been added to this one, for extra colour. To make the spinning messages, start by taping two wooden skewers together. Make sure that you tape the skewers together to leave enough poking through each end of the chocolate box for handles. Use the pointed end of another skewer to poke a hole in either end of the chocolate box. Try and make these holes as close to the centre as you can. Make sure you don't throw away the lid of the box when you open it. Tape it back onto the box like this. Push the long skewer through both the holes you've made in the box. Then rest a triangle of foam or card on a piece of modelling clay and use the pointed skewer to make a hole in the middle. Slide the triangle over the skewer and stick it in place at the end of the box. Do exactly the same at the other end - this will help the box spin better. Next attach your messages to each side of the boxes. Click here to get some messages that you can print off and cut out. If you want to attach photographs, you'll need three of them. Separate each photo into three sections: forehead, eyes and mouth. Stick the photographs on the boxes. All the mouths on one box, all the eyes on another box and all the foreheads on the last box. If you haven't got photos, you could draw three pictures and stick them on in exactly the same way. Line up the spinning messages over the hole you made in the pizza box. Use a pencil to mark where each handle touches the box. With some scissors, make small notches where you made the marks. To hold each handle in place put some PVA glue on the bottom of one side of a small wooden bead. Slide the bead over the skewer and stick it in place. Do this for all six handles. When they're dry you're ready to place the sign on your door. Then you can give it a spin!
